Tailoring the Greenery

Common Tailorbirds (Orthotomus sutorius) are one of the many species found along the Green Corridor, the path along which the old railway line used to run and now is a lovely stretch of greenery slicing open the heart of Singapore’s wildlife. My trip there some weeks back was graced with the presence of a Common Birdwing, Singapore’s only CITES (Convention for International Trade in Endangered Species) listed animal and a species found in the Singapore Red Book, which (predictably) didn’t pause for a single moment in its relentless pursuit for… something. This tailorbird, however, served as a consolation prize, and who could resist it hopping around inside the undergrowth?
